When I close my eyes and reminisce about my hometown Tainan, yellow is the most frequently appearing color. Yellow, the yellow of the aboli flower, the yellow of the evening sun, the yellow of ripened mangoes in summer, the layered yellow of swaying rice stalks in the wind, and the serene yellow of a cup of good tea. Whenever I think of Tainan, these images come to mind, leaving a strong imprint in my heart.

The landscapes of Tainan, from the shore to the mountains, are filled with layered scenery. It took many years in a foreign land for me to slowly discover that these scenes, which I used to take for granted, are still deeply embedded in my heart. When summoned, these profound memories form an abstract mood. Just like the aroma of tea from my hometown, it comes with memories of childhood, moments of shared leisure, a hospitable attitude, and the sentiment of a wanderer returning home. Through this painting, I aim to present the complex emotions towards Tainan: the memories of the past coexisting and interweaving with the continuously changing imagination of the present.
