North Dawu Mountain, known as "kavulungan" in the Paiwan language, is considered a sacred mountain by the Paiwan people, believed to be the final resting place for ancestral spirits. The main focus of the artwork is the revered symbol of the hundred-pace snake occupying the summit of North Dawu Mountain, where the Paiwan people conduct their rituals around the mountain. The entire composition is rendered in black and white tones, echoing the Paiwan people's affinity for black color and aiming to convey the mysterious atmosphere of mountain rituals.
